Pet Peeve

I hate when people touch my hair. I think I’ve always hated it because people think that just because you have long hair they’ve automatically been granted permission to put their hands in it. False!

What I hate more is when random people touch my hair. I was walking down the hallway at work and an older white woman commented on how my hair looked “cute” (It was a twistout). As I walked by, she picked up her hand to touch my hair. Good thing I was walking super fast and I saw it coming. I managed to evade her hand. I couldn’t believe she tried to do that! A friend/co-worker of mine, who saw the whole thing play out, laughed because she knows how I feel about my hair. Unbelievable!

I’ve had people ask if they can touch my hair. Sometimes I say yes, but most times it’s a no. What’s the big fascination?

I think my hate for people touching my hair stems from the fact that I hate touching other people’s hair. I just feel like I don’t know if your hair is clean or if it’ll be greasy and my hand will be dripping with oil once I’m finished touching it. It was never my thing.

In addition, they’re usually messing up whatever style I have, by touching it.

All of that to say that when u see me at the Curly Nikki event, you may touch my hair if you like. I’ll make an exception for the natural hair crew. That’s how much you mean to me! =)

I’ve got my ticket!

I’ve been wearing a bun since I got my bun maker. I’ve had a curly ponytail maybe once and a twistout seems to be a thing of the past! Craziness.

I actually thought of doing a twistout this weekend, but the bun sounded so much easier, so into a bun it went.

Sooooo on to the matter at hand. Who’s going to the Curly Nikki NYC Meetup?! *raises hand* I’ve got my ticket!

How do you plan to wear your hair, or is it a big secret that we unveil that evening?

Can’t wait to see you gals there!

XOXO,
