Don’t Judge Me

But… I still have my ponytail from when I cut my hair on July 22, 2011. It’s been in a zip lock bag since then. It’s still as soft as when it was on my head. Unfortunately, it’s not long enough to donate to Locks of Love.

I wonder what my natural hair journey would have been like if I didn’t decide to cut off the relaxed ends that evening, after transitioning for 16.5 long months.

The one product I wish I had while transitioning is Kinky Curly Knot Today. My biggest problem with transitioning was detangling my hair after washing it and that product would have made my life a whole lot easier.

It was hard for me to let go of my hair, but I knew it would be better in the long run. I’m glad to read that I’m not the only one. SupaNaturalTammy from YouTube mentions that when she did her big chop, she cut off everything except for her bang. She called it her “sanity piece” and held onto it for a few days. LOL. Love her!

In any case… don’t judge me. Maybe one day I’ll be able to part with it.

New Bun Alert!

…and here’s todays bun! I think this is my favorite… and apparently everyone else’s favorite too. I got tons of compliments on my hairstyle. A co-worker said she was going to try it on her hair (and her hair is looonnngggg), another co-worker called my floor just to tell me that she was sitting behind me in a meeting and that my hair looked soooo nice from the back too. Someone else asked if I could do their hair. I’m truly flattered.

My creativity is done for the week, so I’ll be wearing this style again tomorrow.
