Product Review – Hot Head Deep Conditioning Heat Cap

I’m excited because Thermal Hair Care has created a way to deep condition without being tied down to a hair dryer. The Hot Head deep conditioning heat cap is “filled with renewable flax seed which will generate heat when warmed in the microwave.”

I tried it for the first time on Sunday and fell all the way in love. It’s quick, easy and clean. I always deep condition my hair, but almost never use heat because it’s a hassle to take out the hair dryer and have to sit in one place and have heat burning my neck the whole time. According to Thermal Hair Care, “when heat is introduced during a treatment, the hair cuticle will open for an extended period of time allowing the deep conditioner to penetrate the hair shaft and really work to nourish your hair from the inside out.”

I washed my hair and put my conditioner in, covered with a plastic conditioning cap, microwaved my Hot Head cap for 2 minutes and I was ready to go! The Hot Head cap stayed warm the entire time. Even when I thought it wasn’t warm enough, I checked underneath the cap and it was still toasty under there, obviously not as warm as in the beginning though. I left it on for about 35 minutes. The greatest part was that I was able to lay down while I deep conditioned without having to worry about dripping all over my pillow.

I HIGHLY recommend it. You WON’T be disappointed! Shipping is also very quick and there are several beautiful colors and prints to choose from. Mine is pink terry on one side and gray and white zebra print on the other side. Sexy!

You can order yours at ThermalHairCare.com.

Product Review – Hydratherma Naturals Shampoo Bar

20140609-162733-59253652.jpg

Yesterday I had the pleasure of trying Hydratherma Naturals Organic Scalp Soothing Shampoo Bar.

I love that it’s made with organic ingredients and lots of saponified oils. It’s not generally something I look for in hair products, but I absolutely love when I stumble upon a good one.

I completely saturated my hair with water and rubbed the bar on areas of my scalp a bit. A little rub creates a lot of lather. It’s very aromatic with the smell of peppermint. It was actually the first thing I smelled when I opened the box it was shipped in. The peppermint also gives a slight tingly feeling to the scalp, but not overpowering to the point of burning.

The shampoo rinsed clean. I lathered twice because my hair was really greasy to start. My hair didn’t feel dry or stripped, but cleaner than if I used a sulfate free shampoo. I like lather in my shampoo. My hair and scalp felt refreshed.

Truth be told, I’m a sucker for shampoo bars. My only thing with them is that they don’t come with something to store them in. What am I supposed to do with it until the next washday?

My first impression is that I like it. I can easily see that it’ll last a very long time. It’s definitely worth a try.

XOXO,
