Product Review: Cream & Coco Face Polish & Face Mask

I’m sooooo far behind on my product reviews, so over the next few days I’ll be reviewing all of the products I’ve tried recently.

Today’s review is Cream & Coco‘s Black Lemon Sugar Face Polish and Moroccan Mint & Chocolate Face Mask, which was sold as a set.

I was first introduced to the brand, Cream & Coco through Hairscapades. I began following Cream & Coco on Instagram and the pictures of the products just looked like they smelled sooooo delicious! Not only did the products look and sound amazing from the description, but she is very dedicated to her business and her customers. Great selling point for me.

I made a purchase during the Black Friday sale which included face products, a lip set and samples of hair products.

On to the review…

I used the face polish in the shower one evening. Honestly, I wasn’t planning on using the face polish at all because I know my skin is so sensitive (I really wanted the face mask). In addition, it contains lemon and my skin usually reacts to citrus. For whatever reason I decided to try it and AS SOON AS I put it on my face, my face felt like it was on fire. I hadn’t even rubbed the sugar in. I rinsed it off immediately and it still felt like it was burning for a few minutes, then it finally stopped. Needless to say, I won’t be using it again. I should have listened to my inner voice because I really bought the set for the clay mask. There was no lasting effect from the face polish though, so that was good.

The face mask, on the other hand, is fabulous! My skin loves masks. This particular mask is smooth and easy to apply. Once it’s on, you can feel the minty tingle and smell the mint. It’s like aromatherapy at the same time! After rinsing, my face was refreshed and didn’t feel dry or stripped. I’ve used it a couple of times and I enjoy it. Thumbs up for this one!

Curlformers Set

Happy New Year fam!

I wanted to try something new, so I tried out my new Curlformers for New Years Eve. I know… I know… I always say never try new styles when you actually have somewhere to go, but… *shrugs*

I pre-poo’d, washed and deep conditioned my hair. I applied leave in and extra virgin olive oil to my hair and set my hair with the Curlformers.

I previously watched a video or two on YouTube to see how to operate these weird Curlformers, so I pretty much knew what to expect. The application was easy. I mentally sectioned my hair to use all 40 Curlformers and that’s exactly how it worked out.

It took me about 1 hour to put all of them in, although it didn’t seem that long at all. I sat under the dryer for about an hour because I had to go out to celebrate the new year, so there was no time to let it air dry. I can’t even imagine how people sleep in them! I value my sleep too much to have uncomfortable sleep.

When I took the Curlformers out, the results were phenomenal! I’m pleased. It wasn’t until after I set my hair that I realized that I didn’t apply any products with hold. Tsk! My hair came out super soft though. I’d definitely use these again.

As far as sleeping goes, pineappling never worked for me, so I put on my satin bonnet and we’ll see what tomorrow brings. *fingers crossed*
