Two weeks ago I discovered my curls and I haven’t been able to let them go ever since. I finally tried a wash and go after admiring the Instagrammer @princesslinzz’s curls. She uses Kinky Curly Curling Custard for her curls. I’ve had this product for years. I used it once for a twistout and it had way more hold than I needed, so I tucked it away and haven’t used it since. After seeing Princesslinzz’s hair, I decided to give it a whirl. Love love love it!
My showercap can’t fit…
I pineapple it at night…
…and I’ve been rocking my curls ever since!
I was originally scared of ssk’s, but only time will tell. My ends feels fine though.
Happy New Year fam!
I wanted to try something new, so I tried out my new Curlformers for New Years Eve. I know… I know… I always say never try new styles when you actually have somewhere to go, but… *shrugs*
I pre-poo’d, washed and deep conditioned my hair. I applied leave in and extra virgin olive oil to my hair and set my hair with the Curlformers.
I previously watched a video or two on YouTube to see how to operate these weird Curlformers, so I pretty much knew what to expect. The application was easy. I mentally sectioned my hair to use all 40 Curlformers and that’s exactly how it worked out.
It took me about 1 hour to put all of them in, although it didn’t seem that long at all. I sat under the dryer for about an hour because I had to go out to celebrate the new year, so there was no time to let it air dry. I can’t even imagine how people sleep in them! I value my sleep too much to have uncomfortable sleep.
When I took the Curlformers out, the results were phenomenal! I’m pleased. It wasn’t until after I set my hair that I realized that I didn’t apply any products with hold. Tsk! My hair came out super soft though. I’d definitely use these again.
As far as sleeping goes, pineappling never worked for me, so I put on my satin bonnet and we’ll see what tomorrow brings. *fingers crossed*
