Hangtime!

Call me crazy, but I feel like my hair has grown a little since I cut it. Of course I have no measurements or anything yet, but my twistouts seem to hang a little longer and my ponytails doesn’t seem to be just a puff anymore. I think I may actually have a little hangtime!

I see the problem with doing protective styles on short hair. There are none! There are styles that are low-manipulation styles, but as far as protective styling goes… minimal! The only one I can actually think of is Bantu Knots. I’ve been having a lot of twistouts. When I know the weather is going to be bad, I have a ponytail.

My twistouts come out really nice now, the humidity just takes it to another level. I’ve decided that I’m going to stick with a ponytail during the week and save the twistouts or the weekends.

I notice that when my hair is in a ponytail, I don’t moisturize the ends as much as I should. This week I will make a conscious effort to moisturize my ends.

I think I’m finally starting to miss my long hair. I like long hairstyles better and after looking at pics, I like the way I look with long hair better. *shrugs* It’ll be back soon.

XOXO,

Product Review

I finally tried the My Honey Child – Olive You Deep Conditioner. It felt so creamy and moisturizing when I first put it in my hair. I just knew my hair would love it. When I went to rinse it out though, I feel like the whole thing rinsed out. I expected there to be a slight creamy/oily residue, but there was none. That’s not to say that the product isn’t good, just not what I expected. I love love love the smell. It smells like it has some kind of rose product in it.

When my hair dries, I’ll see just how moisturized or shiny it really is. I think the next time I use it, I’ll mix some additional oils in it. I almost mixed some oils in it today, but I wanted to give the product a fair shot without any additions.

I also applied some of the Blended Beauty – Curly Frizz Pudding to my damp hair after I washed and conditioned it. Again, it’s not as moisturizing as I expected. I don’t think I really have a use for this product now, but I’m almost positive that it’ll come in handy for styling in the near future. The smell is delicious as well.

What I really need is a good moisturizer. I’m thinking something water based or aloe based would be good. Any suggestions?
