Call me crazy, but I feel like my hair has grown a little since I cut it. Of course I have no measurements or anything yet, but my twistouts seem to hang a little longer and my ponytails doesn’t seem to be just a puff anymore. I think I may actually have a little hangtime!
I see the problem with doing protective styles on short hair. There are none! There are styles that are low-manipulation styles, but as far as protective styling goes… minimal! The only one I can actually think of is Bantu Knots. I’ve been having a lot of twistouts. When I know the weather is going to be bad, I have a ponytail.
My twistouts come out really nice now, the humidity just takes it to another level. I’ve decided that I’m going to stick with a ponytail during the week and save the twistouts or the weekends.
I notice that when my hair is in a ponytail, I don’t moisturize the ends as much as I should. This week I will make a conscious effort to moisturize my ends.
I think I’m finally starting to miss my long hair. I like long hairstyles better and after looking at pics, I like the way I look with long hair better. *shrugs* It’ll be back soon.
XOXO,
Rece
I don’t think I’ve “said” it yet but I really enjoy your blog because I am at 7 months post relaxer and when I got back to the states I freaked out and I was really close to relaxing, like I bought a relaxer close…reading your experiences while going through a long term transition has kept me from doing it because I know I will regret it after all this time. So thank you!
Aaawwww. Glad I could help. It’s really tough at times, but u seem like you have a good handle on your hair (from what I read before). Just thug it out! I’m not even where I want to be yet, but I know it’ll be soooooo worth it in the long run!
…and return or throw out that box of relaxer so you’re not tempted! Lol
