I’ll be going on a cruise at the end of the month to celebrate my birthday. I was thinking of vacation hairstyles. I usually just do a wash and go ponytail while I’m on vacation. It’s the easiest thing to do and maintain and it looks decent.
Since its my birthday, I wanted something a bit different instead of just a ponytail on my birthday.
Getting a weave crossed my mind and I’ve been toying with the idea. I have so many pros and cons regarding this weave situation. I’ve never had one before and I have no clue what to expect.
What do you think? Have you ever had a weave? What vacation styles do you suggest?

A weave is a great way to achieve, a certain look and also a ps (depending on how its installed and treated whilst on your head) nonetheless its fun, so go for it!

No particular style. Just a part on the side.
I think braids is better for a cruise vacation. I don’t know about the weave too much because you have to blend your hair of you are going to leave some of your hair out.

Your sis is smart. Lol. Braids are better to maintain especially if you plan on going swimming. I wore weaves and braids a WHOLE lot before and while on vacation with each. I preferred the braids. Oh and I wore the Goddess Remy a lot too. It’s also hard to scratch your scalp (especially with you having your scalp issues) with a sew in.
Yeah, my scalp is my main concern. It’s been extra itchy lately with the extra working out. Ughhhhh!
I’ve actually never had braids before (with added hair). I’ve only had my own hair braided.
I would suggest braids too. As a former sew-in weave wearer you’ve got to be EXTRA careful with the hair you chose and getting it wet. I think it will cause more problems than ease on a cruise. Have fun and Happy b-day!

I’m not a fan of fake hair but my daughter wears se in weaves all the time. If you do, make sure you get Remy. there are different types – some shed more than others. I will find out the one she has that doesn’t shed a lot if you want.

Ok I just asked Kyra. She really likes the Remy Goddess.
As for being really hot, she wore her weave in the summer and it wasn’t an issue.

I did tracks before, but if your going someplace warm, I would not recommend it due to it making you feel hot. But, if that’s not a concern, I’d go with something that matches your natural hair texture under humidity so blending isn’t an issue. I’d probably go with twists if I had your lush locks though!!! You could keep them in until last couple days and then rock a banging twist out! Or have your sister hook you up with a cute updo like one of the styles featured on this bglh post today!!!!:

Sandy tracks definitely won’t be a good thing. Maybe I’ll just try the weave some time after I return.
