The Healing Place Apothecary – Product Review

I’m all about using natural deodorants. I was using Dove deodorant for an eternity and I loved it, but I hated the fact that it never felt like it washed off clean. Not to mention all of the articles about anti-perspirant and its possible link to breast cancer.

A natural deodorant I’ve tried recently is by The Healing Place Apothecary (THP Apothecary). Someone on Instagram recommended the brand and the deodorant specifically. I’ve been eyeing them for a while, but I was hesitant about trying a new brand. Like many others, I’ve had bad experiences with natural deodorant.

I received the pit scrub and the deodorant in Rice Flower scent. I love that they have softer scents available like the Rice Flower scent.

The Pit Scrub is amazing! It’s like a sugar scrub with various essential oils. It is used “to slough away dead skin cells that harbor odor causing bacteria.” I didn’t expect to love it as much as I do, but It’s effective and not irritating.

I was a little hesitant about the deodorant because it does contain a small amount of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). In the past, I’ve noticed that sodium bicarbonate irritates under my arms. It’s fine to use in the winter when I barely sweat, but the reaction it creates when I sweat causes a rash under my arms accompanied by burning.

THIS DEODORANT however states that it contains a small amount and I haven’t had a problem at all. I love love love it because it applies very smooth and silky. It doesn’t have a greasy or oily feel, so I have less concern about it ruining my clothes. It has a nice soft feminine scent. I’m partial to softer scents. Most importantly, it’s effective. I’ve been using it in 80+ degree weather here in NY and have had no issues with body odor. I am super impressed. Definitely worth a try!

I am intrigued by several of their other products and plan to try more very soon. Check out their Instagram @THPapothecary and their website at THP Apothecary. Thank me later!
XOXO,
Rece
