This past week has been a weird hair week for me. I washed my hair last weekend and put it in a bun. I wore my hair in a bun all week, but no matter how much I oiled it, it was always dry. It felt like the oil was just sitting on the surface of my hair and my hair was not absorbing a thing!
This doesn’t happen often, but when it does, washing my hair is the only thing that softens and moisturizes it. This is also one of the reasons why I wash my hair weekly. This used to happen when my hair was relaxed as well.
So I washed my hair and pampered it a bit, this weekend and blow dried it a little. My ends were horrific, so I trimmed them just a little. I know you guys are saying “AGAIN?!?!” Yes, again! Lol. That’s the only way for me to keep my hair in good health and stay on top of the SSK situation. It’s been about 5 or 6 weeks since the last trim. I promise I only trim a smidgen each time.
I realized that I ran out of creativity for new styles. I need inspiration. Help!
XOXO,
Rece
I trim my ends a smidgen whenever it needs it too. My hair seems to behave better. Have you done a deep treatment lately with steam?
I’ve actually never done a deep treatment with steam. I don’t have one of those steam things. I can imagine how awesome that would be!
You actually don’t really need the steam thingy. I have mine gathering dust. I find when I use like 3 or 4 plastic bags, plus a towel on my head while DCing I get the same results. I would leave it on for maybe an hour which I believe it’s equivalent to like 15 mins of the steamer.
Good to know! I’ve been deep conditioning, but not that deeeeeep anymore, due to my previous scalp issues.
Hey Rece- Have you tried the whipped shea butter recipe? I made mine about a week ago and I’m experiencing amazing moisture! It locks in my moisture beautifully and doesn’t leave the hair greasy. I’m going to write a post up about what I use and how it works for my now STRAIGHT hair! yes I can’t believe I did it. I was nervous but I won’t do it again any time soon.
